"I think it’s great that nobody tells me, in which way I shall work. And I like it, that I’m not always asked: How far is the project, how long will it take?

Our bosses (they don’t like to be called like that :-) ) trust us and they take time for us if we don’t get ahead sometimes.

Furthermore we laugh a lot at work and if I really don’t get further with a problem I go into the garden to think around the box. As Paul Watzlawick said: "I am free, because I am not in the mercy of reality, I can design reality.“

Elektronics – for me – is the key of every development. Without power nothing works. And if the circuits and contacs I planned work properly, yes than my Tecki-brain is in a laughing mood and satisfied.

I learned at SAB, that two hearts can beat in my body. Without mechanics and software, which my colleagues develop, my creations wouldn’t work as well. Every part is important. Important for me is, that my familily tells I am cheerful and well-balanced since I work for SAB."

I admit it is my passion as well. I am as software junkie! On the photo at the left you watch me at a time-out. I am grateful to my wife, because she often reminds me that a computer can be switched off. Sometimes I’m that deep in my work that I don’t remember: What was the routine to shut down the PC? But the detox really does me good. And afterwards I can sit a bit longer in front of my loved machines without somebody reminding me ..."

"Software design is sometimes if you bear one’s cross! You develop and develop and you have thaaaat many ideas what you still can do for your customers and than: hooops, you find yourself in front of the question: Does the customer really needs it? Does he want it, or do I entertain myself?

Than you need to stop yourself, because, to tell the truth: who need the 125^th evaluation for the same subject or an additional blinking lamp. The real challenge in software design is to concentrate on the essence and to be ready in time.
Not that easy if you still have so many ideas….."

"Documentation is a dry topic you mean? Nothing more than borring and unknowable manuals?

No way! If you feel like this, you never read one of my manuals. I am still crazy on describing systems that way, you can feel it is a child’s play to use them. My operating guidelines are clear and easy to understand.

And if a topic appears to be too dry, I go back to my roots of Moselle and indulge myself a good wine – Certainly semi-dry!"

"Sometimes my colleagues tell me, that I have a bit of a „resolute“ charm.

This may depend on the fact that my job is related to my character. Logistics result from logic and logic is something very realistic. But don’t misunderstand me. Although I am a Westphalian, I don’t go into the cellar to laught, even if there is the beer.
At noon time my colleagues often look surpised when I unpack my meal, because I am an enthusiastic hobby cook."

But often I don’t manage to take a break while assemling, because I don’t like to find myself in hecticness to make up lost time. Finally our machines have to start at a certain point of time.

That needs commitment! And I am really proud that we are always ready in time. Even if it means I have to do without a cigarette break. Only for this reason you caught me!"

"It’s said, that men don’t loose their play instinct. That’s true! And I belong to the lucky people that can use their play instinct at work. Simply I changed the Lego bricks with some bigger components. It still amuses me to merge all parts to a whole thing.

"Oh my goodness. Sometimes it’s really hard to understand my colleagues! Imagine what wonderful words developers know! But to give them their due: If I don’t understand words like “incremental giver” it always shows somebody up to explain me. And they describe in a way that I’m able to understand and that I’m enabled to give you an understanding of our work. Before I alreay worked with engineers, but never with that nice ones. Imagine you join the SAB. As far as you start, you have a bunch of new frieds. Unthinkable you mean? That’s exactly what I tought before, but it’s adaptive!"
